About this converter

A cup of flour and a cup of sugar have different weights, so “cups to grams” only works per ingredient. Pick the ingredient and the converter uses a typical gram-per-cup value. For baking where precision matters, weigh on a kitchen scale. Cups, tablespoons and teaspoons here are US measures: one cup is 236.6 mL, 16 tablespoons or 48 teaspoons. Volume-to-volume and weight-to-weight conversions (cups to millilitres, grams to ounces) are exact; only the step between volume and weight depends on the ingredient. Flour values assume the flour is spooned into the cup and levelled, and brown sugar is packed, which is how most recipes mean it.
