About this converter
Tyre pressure is commonly quoted in PSI or bar, weather in millibars or inHg, and blood pressure in mmHg. Standard atmospheric pressure is 101,325 pascals. One bar is exactly 100,000 pascals (100 kPa), slightly less than one atmosphere, and about 14.5 psi. Older Indian gauges and some compressor manuals use kilograms-force per square centimetre (kgf/cm²), which is almost the same as a bar: 1 kgf/cm² is 0.980665 bar. When checking a tyre, use the figure printed on the door pillar or in the manual, and convert it to the unit your gauge shows.
