Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Unitora website (https://unitora.equisteg.com) and the Unitora mobile app (together, the “Service”), published by Unitora. We built the Service so that it works without an account and without collecting personal information from you directly.
1. What we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files or precise location.
- The numbers you type into a converter are processed on your device or in your browser. They are not sent to our servers (we do not operate a server that receives them).
2. Information stored on your device
The Service saves a few preferences locally so it works the way you left it: theme, number-format and precision settings, your last-used units, favourites and recent conversions (mobile app), and a cached copy of currency exchange rates. On the web this uses your browser’s local storage; in the app it uses app-private storage. This information never leaves your device through us, and you can delete it by clearing your browser data, using “Clear saved data” in the app’s Settings, or uninstalling the app.
3. Currency exchange rates
The Currency converter downloads exchange rates from third-party rate providers (Exchange Rate API at open.er-api.com, European Central Bank reference rates through Frankfurter at api.frankfurter.dev and, as a fallback, a community feed served through the jsDelivr CDN). Like any internet request, this discloses your IP address and basic device/browser information to those providers, which is subject to their own policies. No amounts you type are sent. Rates are indicative only and must not be used for financial transactions.
4. Advertising
The Service is free and supported by advertising.
- Website: we use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and, where you consent or where the law allows, to personalise them. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ads are only personalised after you give consent through the consent message shown on the site; you can change your choice at any time via the “Privacy settings” link in the footer (shown wherever the consent message applies).
- Mobile app: we use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and app information (such as device model, OS version, app version), and ad interaction data to deliver, measure and secure ads. In regions where consent is required, the app shows Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform) before requesting ads, and you can re-open it from Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your Android or iOS system settings.
- How Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of many third-party ad vendors at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.com (EU).
5. Basic service data
Our hosting provider and the app stores may process technical data such as IP address, request time, and crash information as part of delivering the Service. We use this only to operate, secure and improve the Service.
6. Children
The Service is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, tell us using the developer contact shown on our Google Play listing and we will help.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of personal data, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of data for advertising. Because we do not keep personal data about you ourselves, most of these choices are exercised through the ad-consent controls and system settings described above. You can also make a request through the developer contact shown on our Google Play listing (see section 10).
8. Security and retention
Data stored on your device stays there until you remove it. Traffic between the Service and the rate providers uses HTTPS.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision; material changes will be reflected in the app listing and on this page.
10. Privacy inquiries
The Service is published by Unitora. For privacy questions or requests, including requests to access or delete data, email contact@unitora.equisteg.com.
